Omega-3提升专注力的迷思|林俊良医生

家长经常询问,是否让小朋友多吃鱼或服用鱼油丸有助于提升专注力。
深海鱼油含有Omega-3多元不饱和脂肪酸(Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids),其中主要成分为DHA(二十二碳六烯酸)和EPA(二十碳五烯酸)。Omega-3在大脑和身体健康中扮演著关键角色,它是所有细胞膜的重要组成部分,而且我们的身体无法自行合成此营养素,因此我们需要透过饮食摄取Omega-3。

Omega-3对脑细胞健康至关重要。它有助于支援血清素、去甲肾上腺素和多巴胺等神经传递物质的稳定传输,对于调节情绪和认知功能至关重要。此外,Omega-3还具有抗炎和抗氧化的作用,有助于对抗神经炎症,对改善焦虑、忧郁、专注力不足和痴呆症等症状有正面影响。
需要注意的是,Omega-3并非药物,对脑神经系统的帮助并不会立即产生效果,一般需要持续使用3至4个月以上才能观察到症状上的改善。服用Omega-3补充品是安全的,且副作用较轻微。然而,由于补充品的规定相对宽松,我们应该留意不同产品的品质控制,并作出明智的选择。
