Introduction |
Leader of The Year is an annual event established by Sing Tao News Corporation Limited since 1994. Celebrating its 32nd anniversary, the award recognizes eminent figures who have made profound contributions to Hong Kong’s development and its strategic ties with China and the global community. Distinguished past recipients include financial leader Joseph Yam, performing arts icon Andy Lau, Nobel laureate Professor Charles Kao, "father of non-invasive prenatal testing" Professor Dennis Lo, and Olympic medalist Siobhan Haughey.
In an era shaped by China’s new round of high‑quality opening‑up, the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area initiative, Hong Kong is stepping up from being solely a “super connector” to also serving as a “super value‑adder.” The city provides high value‑added professional services that facilitate Mainland enterprises in going global while attracting international capital and innovation into China, effectively bridging the nation with the rest of the world.
Against this macro backdrop, “Leaders of the Year 2025” adopts the theme “VISIONARIES MOVING THE WORLD” to celebrate the visionaries who turn passion, insight and innovation into action. These leaders extend their influence from local to global stages, harnessing technology and cross‑cultural leadership to advance industries, create social impact and shape the next era of global progress.
